The primetime background for Week 6 of those NCAAF everyday season is a little on the condensed side as a range of teams are on bye this week. There are still quality games to look ahead, including this assembly of Big Ten competitors in Columbus.
The Michigan State Spartans have bounced back with two victories from an upset loss at home. They will be on the road Saturday night if they take on the Ohio State Buckeyes.
While the Buckeyes have awakened to 4th after yet another victory on Saturday the Spartans were ranked 25th in the country for the latest AP poll. Since they obtained seven votes A situation is beginning to be produced for Ohio State being the strongest program in the nation.
Michigan State is far from a pushover, although the Buckeyes are home favorites. This can be. Lets take a good look at this intriguing tilt.

Michigan State was home last Saturday playing host to Indiana. They were big favorites but ended up having a difficult time. It was tied up at 31 late in the 4th quarter, but the Spartans were able to rally to get a 9-point triumph. Brian Lewerke threw for 300 yards and 3 scores in the triumph. While still allowing 356 yards of offense the tough Michigan State defense revealed some cracks.
Ohio State was on the street for a date with all the Nebraska Cornhuskers. They ruled that the event from the get go and walked on the field since favorites. To cruising to a 48-7 win before Cornhusker nation knew what hit them the Buckeyes were up. Although the shield process four sacks and 11 tackles for loss justin Fields accounted for four squares.
The Spartans blemish on this year came at the hands of visiting with Arizona State a few weeks back. The Sun Devils had mad annually to Michigan State on their home turf, and they were able to do it again. The Spartans bounced back using a street win over Northwestern in the defeat, followed by last weeks win over Indiana.
While staying undefeated in the season, the Buckeyes have yet to be analyzed. To visiting with Florida Atlantic in Week 1, they let 21 points. They have allowed opponents to score a total of 22 points. In Week 2, they clobbered visiting with Cincinnati. Each of their wins on the year have come by at least 24 points.
Michigan State has been seen as a powerful defensive team that had to work to do on crime. That holds true, however, the Spartans have shown lifetime on that aspect of the chunk with all the notable exception of this loss. Lewerke has made progress, projecting for 1,325 yards, 10 scores and one pick.
Elijah Collins leads the team in rushing with 78 carries for 413 yards and three scores. Darrell Stewart Jr. paces the pass catchers with 35 receptions for 556 yards and 3 scores. The defense is holding opponents to an average of 15.0 points a game when booted 16 sacks. Joe Bachie directs the team with 47 tackles, whereas Kenny Willekes is tops with four sacks.
Ohio State had any questions to reply heading to the season. Move QB Justin Fields and new head coach Ryan Day have answered many of these. The Buckeyes are undefeated, and Fields is a portion of their Heisman dialog. Ohio State is 4-1 ATS and 2-2-1 about the Over/Under.
Last season, the Spartans were 7-6 overall, 4-9 ATS, and also 4-9 on totals. The Buckeyes have been 6-8 ATS, 13-1 straight-up, and 7-7 on totals. Since 2016, Michigan State is 3-3 straight-up and ATS as a home underdog. Ohio State is currently 22-1 as 11-12 ATS and a house favorite.
Outside the lack of Arizona State, the Spartans have been solid. Three of the four wins have come by 21 points or more, with seeing Indiana weekend, however they did have a tougher than expected time.
From the preseason, the game with Nebraska of Ohio State was viewed as a possible trouble area for the Buckeyes. Just like all foes this season has been faced by them, that turned out not to be the situation. The controlling road triumph beneath the primetime lights has been.
