With just under four weeks before training camp, the future of wide receiver Josh Gordon remains unknown inside and outside of the Patriots locker room.
Gordon and quarterback Tom Brady worked out a week, based on Brady’s Instagram. However, the wideout remains suspended for violating the NFL’s substance abuse policy in December.

Count Super Bowl MVP Julian Edelman among those that does not know if — or when — Gordon will rejoin the team.
“It’s a lifetime situation and you’re pulling for him… to get better,” Edelman said Wednesday, through Barstool Sports. “And selfishly, I need him because he’s a great football player and that he will help us.
“I don’t understand anything (about whether Gordon is going to be reinstated) going right into it. Like, legit. I’ve asked 30 people within the organization and out,’Do you understand what is going to happen?’ And not one thing is not known by any one. Thus, we’re just kind of waiting to find out exactly what the circumstances will be with him because he’d be a really good tool and sitting. He balls.”
There hasn’t been any update on his status, although gordon was anticipated to apply for reinstatement in May, according to the Tom Pelissero of NFL Network. Gordon did not attend the Patriots’ Super Bowl ring ceremony earlier in June and has not made any remarks that are public, but stays active.
